Real-Time Predictive Propagation Modeling for Optimizing Wireless Network Protocols

چکیده
A common feature of all wireless mobile data networks is the dynamic nature of the propagation environment. Our work introduces a real-time propagation model that runs independently on each node in a mobile wireless ad hoc network. It computes and predicts RF propagation conditions for wireless links between mobile nodes and assists the network routing protocol in making hand-offs or choosing the best route to a destination. This brings a new level of intelligence into wireless networks.
